To assist our Physicians in diagnosing and treating you, Rice ER has onsite imaging services and uses state-of-the-art equipment for X-rays, CT scans, and ultrasound. Our ER is also staffed with certified and licensed board-certified radiology technologists who quickly and thoroughly evaluate the images to assist the Physician in diagnosing your medical issue.

Our onsite laboratory is staffed with expertly trained technicians and state-of-the-art equipment so that your accurate test results can be returned in minutes, not hours.

What if I Need Observation or to be in the Hospital?

When a board certified Physician needs a patient to stay for observation, we offer comfortable, luxurious observation suites for patients.

What If I need A Hospital Transfer?

Occasionally, a patient may need hospitalization for more treatment such as cardiac monitoring or surgery. If that happens, Rice ER’s staff will make arrangements with local hospitals for a seamless transfer from the ER to the hospital. We ensure you go directly to your hospital bed without incurring a second ER charge. .

What if My Child Needs Emergency Care?

At Rice ER, we provide full-service pediatric emergency care for newborns to teenagers. Our pediatric suite is specially designed to provide a place of comfort for apprehensive children of all ages.

We have extensive experience in helping children through injury or illness. Although not easy for children, we do all we can to make a child’s ER experience a positive one.

We also have relationships with pediatric specialists who can provide ongoing follow-up care for your child when necessary. If your child needs hospitalization, we have strong relationships with pediatricians and pediatric hospitals throughout Houston. We ensure the transfer to the hospital is handled by trained paramedics. We also coordinate with the hospital treating pediatricians so the transfer is seamless and in the best interest of your child.
